Gabriella Slade
Justin Allin

Something new for today – we are pleased to share Jeremy’s conversation with two industry professionals.  Gabriella Slade, a Set and Costume Designer who trained at the Royal Welsh College in Design for Performance and Justin Allin, a Costume Supervisor who trained at Royal Central in Theatre Practice – Costume Construction.

Over a relatively short period, this pair have developed a very special working relationship and together have accomplished a significant body of work in the theatre.  This illustrates their focus and determination to achieve great results but also to enjoy every aspect of the design process.  Their many varied credits include projects such as the Spiceworld Tour last year and Gabriella’s Olivier nominated SIX.

It is clear from their chat together that this working relationship flourishes because throughout the design process they both successfully play to each other’s strengths.  They maintain great communication and support with each other but as importantly to their suppliers, assistants, and makers to ensure that the design process goes as smoothly and effectively as possible.

Demonstrating such a combination of skills this pair will continue to enjoy successful careers for many years to come.
