We care passionately about costume and its role in our industry as well as those working in it. We have had the opportunity to work with and train some of the most creative people working today and are delighted now to be able to share some of those journeys with you, as well as pass on some advice to anyone wanting to learn more about our industry.
In a series of conversations, we will speak to Designers, Supervisors, Assistants, past Apprentices and others to hear about their experiences of our industry and the craft of costume itself.
These conversations will be conducted by Jonathan Lipman, Richard Green and Jeremy Angel who work with the people they will interview every day.
Jonathan has over 30 years-experience at Angels. He began as a costumier, went on to set up a Contemporary Department and is now a Production Director with responsibility for all the Making departments. Jonathan is also a costume designer. He has designed costumes for many productions included the recent London production of Fiddler on The Roof, a show for which he has been nominated for an Olivier award.
Richard has worked at Angels for over 40 years, beginning as a trainee and then going on to set up the Military department at Angels which covers the majority of periods and countries. It is considered by many to be the best costume military department in the world. He is now a Production Director.
Jeremy is part of the 7th Generation of the Angel Family working in the business today. He has worked at Angels for over 15 years having previously spent 7 years working within the film industry itself. He has helped set up several of Angels websites and curated the Angels Star Collection before becoming a Production Director.
